The Challenge

Beekeeping Tradition Meets
Modern Reality

You know your bees.

You understand the seasons, recognize the signs, and have developed your own approach through years of experience. But keeping detailed records across multiple hives, remembering specific observations from weeks ago, and planning ahead for the season can quickly turn into a burden of paperwork and scattered notes.

Traditional record-keeping methods don't match the pace of modern beekeeping, and generic note apps don't understand what beekeepers actually need to track.

There has to be a better way.

The Solution

Built for the Way
You Actually Work

Quick Inspections

Record observations in seconds, not minutes. Capture what matters without fumbling with paper in the bee yard.

Track What Matters

Monitor queen health, brood patterns, temperament, and hive behavior over time. Spot patterns you might otherwise miss.

Seasonal Planning

Get reminders based on your location and hive history. Never miss a critical inspection window.

Your Data, Your Way

Hive Notes works offline in the bee yard and syncs when you're ready. Your data stays yours.

My Story

Built by a Beekeeper,
for Beekeepers

I grew up watching the bees on my parents' farm.

Those early moments of curiosity turned into years of beekeeping and eventually a PhD in Biology. My fascination with these remarkable insects never faded.

Hive Notes was born from a simple observation: beekeeping is steeped in tradition and wisdom passed down through generations, yet many beekeepers struggle with the practical side of managing their hives, tracking inspections, remembering details, and planning for the season ahead.

I built Hive Notes to bridge that gap. Not to replace the craft of beekeeping, but to support it. To give beekeepers a tool that respects their knowledge while making the day-to-day easier.

"Technology should serve tradition, not overshadow it."
